What's Karachi's official animal? Why isn't Biryani officially honored as Karachi's most favorite dish - its culinary identity - it's OFFICIAL DISH? After the massive chopping of eucalyptus the tree, what's Karachi's officially representative tree now?
A string of biryani centers struck up the thought in my mind: Biryani is Karachi official food. And the animal...?

| Jamshed about the offical monument I guess you are referring to Jehangi Kothari Parade / Clifton Promenade. I agree as it was built in 1922 and Mohatta Palce was built around 1933-35. About Karachi's Offical Sweet, I think we should nominate KARACHI HALVA as BURFI is available in all major cities of Pakistan. | |

| What should be the criteria for the choices? I believe the candidate should be: 1) Uniquely Karachi'ite - distinguishing it as an icon of KHI and no other city, at least in Pakistan (that's why cows would not be here, e.g., they are Faisalabad's icon) 2) Represent hope, growth, future 3) Give the dog (KHI) a good name and make him live up to it - In fact this point makes me wonder if, on a serious note, BLUE should be KHI's official color. It represents our hope of having a blue see, and a pollution-free azure blue sky 4) etc. Later! | |
