Pakistan’s Leading Sufi Band to Play in India

Mekaal Hasan Band is very popular in Pakistan. It is now making inroads in the international scenario. Mekaal Hasan is the guitarist and music composer for his band. He is also the guest guitarist with Junoon. It is a band of seven members. Javed Bashir is the vocalist. Mohammad Ahsan plays the flute, Mohammad Fahad Khan is on drums, Farhan Ahmed on keyboards, Salman Albert on rhythm guitar and Sameer Ahmed is on bass. Mekaal formed the Mekaal Hasan Band towards the end of 2000. The Sampooran album features his long-standing writing partnership with keyboardist Javed Akhtar. The band is giving its maiden performance in India.
