There were smiles all around as Tabassum Warsi dished out a treat to music lovers in Oman at ‘Sham-e-Ghazal’ at Al Falaj Hotel last weekend.

Smiles (tabassum in Urdu) of acceptance, acknowledgement and appreciation all backed up by a continued round of applause accompanied her performance like a reward from a receptive audience. How ghazal has come to fascinate generations of Urdu lovers all over the world was instantly visible as soon as the stage revealed itself. It was a beautiful attempt at portraying what led to the creation of ghazal as the backdrop sat perfectly with the most popular genre of Urdu poetry…
