Islamabad Sculptors See Hope for Figurative Art in Pakistan

Based on the topic, ‘Find Yourself,’ Quratul Ain has created free forms that have metallic surfaces embellished with thumb pins to produce the effect of movement. Most of her work is figurative and stylised. Both the artists are conscious of the difficulties that they may encounter in pursuing a career as sculptors but are determined not to be deterred. They believe there are fixed biases and stereotypes that have adversely impacted the development of this particular genre “but this does not imply that sculpture does not have a future in Pakistan.
