Malaysian Firm Bags Pakistan Payphone Licence

REDtone Telecommuncation Pakistan Pte Ltd has received a Card Payphone Licence from the government. The licensee’s obligations are to install at least 500 card payphones per year, at least 10% of the total phones installed annually shall be in rural localities and to provide services within one year from the effective date in major Pakistan cities. Besides, the licensee shall pay a sum of Rs500,000 as initial licence fee and annual fee of 1.5% of annual gross revenue minus inter-operator payments (only for call charges and line rent) and revenue-related taxes or 10% of the initial licence fee, whichever is higher.
