Consider this picture. A 20-kilometer stretch of road, packed on both sides with a dizzying, countless blend of narrow congested stores and spacious, elaborate showrooms. A sprawling market with everything from basic groceries to over-priced wrought-iron gates on sale. A teeming crowd of browsing customers on the prowl for a bargain. And an endless, deafening din of unmoving, horn-blaring traffic…
