‘Takhti’ Sculpture Exhibition Opens in Lahore

An exhibition of sculptures titled ‘Ordinary Souls’ by Karachi based artist Abdul Jabbar Gul opened at Ijaz Gallery on Monday. More than a hundred art pieces were put on display, with prices ranging from Rs 5,000 to 0.2 million. The artist said that using takhtis was his way of recollecting childhood memories by highlighting political slogans used throughout Pakistan’s history. This is Gul’s first solo exhibition in Lahore. Before this, he had only participated in group shows.
