Classical Arts Society Holds Performance Evening in Lahore

A music and dance evening titled ‘Sur Taal’ organised by the Society of Classical Arts (SCA) was held at Alhamra Cultural Complex on Monday.

Before the programme, Bina Jawwad, an SCA member, said that SCA had been founded to promote Pakistani music and dance heritage amongst the young generation. Ms Jawad lamented that artists were not being valued and were underselling themselves. She stressed the need to revive classical music and dance -the legacy of spirituals and Sufi saints.
