Pakistani woman appointed Deputy Director UNHCR

Mehr Khan Williams, a Pakistani national, has been appointed as UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Commission.

Khan Williams has worked for the United Nations since 1976. She has held senior management positions in New York, Florence and Bangkok with UNICEF and has also served as Acting Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Sydney.
