Will We Ever Have Interruption Free Electricity?

As humans, we all face specific distractions and difficulties which keep us at bay from delivering our best. These distractions could either be social or economic, but we as a nation have been through far more than social, economic and psychological hardships for the past decade. About hardships in life, the first thing that comes to our minds is the pain, distress and sickness due to regular and long power shedding in our societies now a day.

The socio-economic panorama has been re-defined for our nation by a mix of some of past negligence and hugely by incompetence in re-structuring the power sector. Our daily lives are driven by load shedding schedule which defines our punctuality for offices, schools, commitments and gatherings.

Energy needs for domestic and commercial consumers have sky rocketed to 20,000 MWs from 10,000 MWs in the year 2000. Despite such an increase in demand, no change what so ever in either the transmission system or generation has been initiated. In fact, many of media popular power projects have been planned long back and still await execution.

The economy as well as the common man suffers not only during harsh weather but also during flood seasons; year after year, we as children have grown up listening stories about \"Kala Bagh\", \"Neelum Jhelum\" and huge hydel potential in our homeland but the same question lingers in our minds, will we ever be able to have such a basic utility interruption free?. The answer to it would sadly be NO, even after decades to come until we start planning ahead of time.

We as nation should stop living in foolish world where a politician\'s slogan without any tangible actions is enough as a hope. We better start saving energy for a brighter future rather than living in day dreams of getting rid of such terrible distractions through hollow slogans & thermal dominant energy mix with such \"Nothing\" sort of economy. loadshedding
