Professional and Fake Beggars

With the prevailing of poverty in Pakistan, specially talking about Karachi, a new profession has emerge as professional beggars. These professionals\' beggars can be easily seen on streets on their specific territories which they maintain as their assigned area for their business. Most of them are of young age or teenagers using different tackles to attract people and gain sympathy for their incapability of earning. Some of them have ever sleeping child with them, some have school going kids, other might have worn out clothes with a stick to walk or there might be some of getting make-up to look old. Each one of them has their specific area from where they earn a handsome amount daily to fulfil their other than basic needs as well like mobile phones, drugs, TV etc.

Beside these professionals and fake tactics users, the most important point here to be highlighted is because of these professionals, they real in need people suffer to a great extent as they have no other option then to join their lobby for begging. Joining lobby does not only means restricted to specific area but sharing their amount of % with the leader who looks after all their matters which include handling of police or other threats of other area beggars snatching their share.

Earning for free is just not fascinating for them but it\'s sort of addiction to them not to work and earn even more than a hard-working labour or minimum pay set by our govt. that is of 12000/- monthly. We as a public feels very good about donating money and that is something very good and should not be stopped but the point here is that because of our high scale sympathies, these beggars have professionally and cleverly start playing with us. If we notice we could find several beggars sitting at the same place or on same signals for years and to a distance of 1km we can find another on same locations for months.

Why they do not overlap each other ever? Or any other found in between them? These are some of the points to be noticed that they work in such organized manner and they have been addicted to earn for free by lying full day with their hands raised.

It is high time now to realize the society that although donating is good and should be continued for every cost but donation is meant for its real seekers and people who are in real need. Or to just break the chain of earning it for free for these sort of people, even we wish to donate them as to feel good and help them, make them realize that nothing comes for free. Even if we are donating them, we must demand a work in return rather that it be a pity of work of cleaning dishes, washing car screen, polishing shoes or cleaning up the garden.

Moreover it should be practised that any child found begging again and again could be offered a house chore job in return of any pre decided amount monthly. This is something to be practised to realize them that nothing is for free and should work to earn some. Even it is said donation is of use if it reaches the real needful for it.
