How to use Facebook after you die

www.pakpositive.com

Facebook has just added a new feature in it\'s settings and nobody noticed it!

It\'s called My Legacy Contact. In case something happens to you and you are dead, you can choose someone to manage your account and tell people on your behalf that you are no more. They\'ll be able to do things like pin a post on your Timeline, respond to new friend requests, and update your profile picture. They won\'t post as you or see your messages.

At the bottom of the same feature, you have an option to delete your account when you pass away. Go to your account and check it out. You\'ll find it in your security settings. To know more about it check the Facebook FAQs. Your Legacy Contact can contact people and post things using your account but that person can not read your messages. You can only choose to have a single legacy contact. It\'s a good step taken by Facebook . You can choose to have that friend as your legacy contact who is aware of your activities and is very close to you.

This Amazing and New Feature was added in February, 2015 but since many people do not check their settings, it was noticed by a few people and many people are unaware of it even now. Your Legacy Contact can:

  1. Update your profile photo and cover photo
  2. Write a post to display at the top of the memorialised Time-line (like to tell people any special message of yours or something else)
  3. Respond to new friend requests.

Your Legacy contact would not be able to do something. For Example:

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Remove or change past posts, photos and other things shared on your Timeline.
  3. Read messages you\'ve sent to other friends.
  4. Remove any of your friends.
