Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq held his nerve to guide his side to a memorable last-ball victory over India in the fourth one-day international in Ahmedabad. A win had seemed unlikely as Tendulkar, after scoring just 12 runs in his previous three innings, returned to his best, defying cramp and sweltering heat to hit 123, his first century in 16 matches. In a match reduced to 48 overs per side, India’s 315 for six looked a formidable total but all of Pakistan’s top order contributed as they successfully chased a 300-plus target for the first time.
