Pakistan to Compete in First World Universade Boxing

Pakistan will compete in the first edition of World Universities Boxing Championship to be held later this month at Antalia, Turkey.

This was disclosed by chairman Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) Prof. Anwar Chowdhry on Thursday. “We will compete in the championship with strong team comprising of three pugilists, a manager, referee and coach. We are expecting some 40 to 45 countries to participate in the championship which would made it very tough,” he said.

Prof. Chowdhry also president of Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) said the (AIBA) have proposed Federation of International Sports Universities (FISU) to include boxing in World Universade Games which was a biennial event…
