Angelina Jolie's choice to wear shalwa kameez (forgive my spelling) shows not only an open mind but a respect for the nation she is in. When I came Pakistan for the first time I brought my western clothes (that's all I had) and even though it is popular to wear western clothes in Pakistan I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb and wanted to blend in so I bought some shalwar kameez for myself. Man they are comfortable than the monkey suits I am used to wearing. The appeal to dive into another culture for some of us westerners is something of a treat and an example of a liberal mindset to being open and trying something different. When I was in Pakistan in my Jeans and Armani Exchange T-shirts I was often staired at. The thought of wearing what looks like wearing pajamas to us kind of weird but I can see why she would want to wear a shalwar kameez.
Good job Angie and if I had my choice of places to retire Pakistan is number one on my list. Nothing but shalwar kameez days, tea and biscuits and lunch at Cuco's next to Badshahi Mosque in Lahore.
It is nice to know that one of the hottest women in the world can come out to be the most nicest she is beutiful inside and out!:):):) I personlly think that it was very respectful for her to wear the Pakistani dress, what wrong with her experiencing other cultures? and it's not like she didn't look good in it, sides it shows that she's respectful by not covering herself with fancy jewlery and fancy brand label clothes when such a disaster strikes a country.
