Engineer Anwar, who runs a part-time marriage bureau and has to his credit the solemnisation of 136 successful marriages, believes that lack of socialisation is one of the main reasons why families seek the help of matchmakers. Hundreds of couples get married every year but even then finding Mr/Mrs Right continues to remain an issue which forces those contemplating matrimony to turn to marriage bureaus or individual match makers for help. Most matchmakers strongly feel the media are solely responsible for the changing attitudes among men and women who prefer beauty over brains due to which the old trend of a 40 year-old man desiring to marry a 25 year-old woman is gradually coming back.
