Pakistani Girl Wins Indian’s Scholarship in US

Graduate Mahwish Yousaf, whose family still has ties to the Punjab city of Lahore, became the first recipient of the S. L. Nanda Math and Science Scholarship in May. This award was established in memory of Sneh Nanda of Charleston, who was born in Lahore when it was part of the British ruled Indian subcontinent. Yousaf, who was born in Ohio and whose family is Catholic, said the disputes of India and Pakistan have not been a big issue in her life.
