New National Fibre Optic Network for 77 Pakistani Cities

Multinet Pakistan of Telekom Malaysia on June 24 announced the launch of its project 'Ittehad' - a 4,500 km national fibre optic backbone that will link some 77 cities of Pakistan, according to a statement. The project, which is expected to be completed in fourteen months time, will bring in $100 million of investment and will result in a highly accessible, fully redundant and resilient DWDM backbone with 20 Gbps operational capacity and 48 cores of dark fibre.
