Pakistan Telecommunication Best Performing in Asia

Pakistan Telecommunication, Indosat of Indonesia and True of Thailand are the best performers among Asian phone shares this month as investors bet on expansion in nations with the fastest growth in subscribers. Investors are following Singapore Telecommunications and Norway's Telenor, which have bought stakes in cellphone operators in South Asia and Southeast Asia to benefit from predicted subscriber growth of as much as 48 percent this year. As few as one in 17 people in Pakistan own a cellphone, compared with nine out of 10 in Singapore.
