Pakistan Set to Join ASEAN as Dialogue Partner

The path to Pakistan's full dialogue partnership with Asean is beginning to clear up with four member countries visited by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz the past week expressing support to the bid. Asean also has dialogue partners that include China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, the United States, Australia, Canada, the European Union, India, New Zealand. In Bangkok, Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra told a joint press conference with Shaukat, "Thailand will definitely support Pakistan's bid for full dialogue partnership status with Asean".
