Asad Nazir and Safia Minney, successful entrepreneurs in the fashion industry both won prestigious awards at last night’s event. Asad Nazir was awarded the title of Best Newcomer of the Year and Safia Minney won the Community Award. Asad Nazir started his company, Trends in December 2003 after he recognised a niche in the market for ethnic designer labels that would appeal to young British Asians with a high disposable income.
