Karachi and Chicago to be Sister Cities

Declaring Karachi and Chicago twin cities was something that was being contemplated for a long time and was initiated in 2000, but was not implemented. The proposal to bring Karachi in line with international cities were put forward by President Musharraf during his visit to Chicago Pakistani-Americans are on the staff of several Chicago hospitals as well as other corporations, which is a strong indication of a flourishing and successful group of immigrants.
