Pakistani Satellite Does Good Business in Space

PAKSAT International is responsible for selling the bandwidth on Pakistan’s first communication satellite PAKSAT-1 which is located at 38 degrees East Longitude. PAKSAT-1, which provides transponder bandwidth in the C and Ku-band is currently supporting quite a few Pakistani satellite TV channels. PAKSAT International has also started marketing activities in Africa & Middle East regions which are covered by the satellite. The SUPARCO chairman told the meeting PAKSAT-1 was leased ‘to protect our orbital slot and it is already being used to establish Pakistan in the satellite.
