Karachi Kids Volunteer to Clean Historical Buildings

Around 300 children of various schools and 100 volunteers of different companies participated in cleaning and washing of the 30-foot high facade of P&O Plaza (Bandookwala Building) under Karavan Chundrigar Road Heritage Fest and Karavan Heritage Cleaning Initiative here on Sunday. She said Karavan activities were held in order to foster a sense of identity and pride, and to preserve heritage for a culture of peace, national integration and development. "We will now go for cleaning Shalimar Garden, Lahore, in which 50 children from India will also participate," she said. Earlier, children including special, mentally retarded and disabled persons wearing colourful dresses presented performances ranging from songs, tableau, dance to mime and puppet shows.
