Women’s Cricket Gains Momentum in Pakistan

via www.ndtv.com

With the PCB now changing its mind, women’s cricket is getting a fillip in Pakistan. The PCB’s main objective is to effectively organize women’s teams at the regional and district level, to tap the talent for the national’s women team. Girls participating in the tournaments at all levels will be financially supported with a fixed stipend, free transport and lodging and cash prizes for winners ranging from 5000 to 10,000 Pakistani rupees. While the PCB has been convinced, for many of the girls, convincing their parents and a conservative society won’t be quite so easy.
