Lahore Students Win First Prize in Bombay ‘Techfest’

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore won the first prize in the three-day Asian Open Software Competition ‘Techfest 2005′ held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from January 28 to 30. According to a press statement, over 200 teams from around the world participated in the competition. Renowned academia and industry giants, including IBM, judged the contest. The UET software ‘IRTIQA’ simulates the aging effect on facial images. It can display a human face in various stages of life such as adolescence, middle-aged and old aged.
