Large-scale Manufacturing Shows Big Growth

The large-scale manufacturing (LSM) sector has registered a phenomenal growth of 27.81 per cent in November 2004, while the overall LSM indices for first five months of the fiscal have also depicted a robust increase of 15.54 per cent. The period of industrial growth in the country has coincided with a rampant growth in the private sector credit off-take at about Rs 285 billion during first half of 2004-05, rising inflation at 8.81 per cent and up-tick in the foreign private investment flows at $504.3 million.
