First Volume of Pakistan Cultural Encyclopaedia Launched

Lok Virsa has launched the first volume of the ‘Cultural Encyclopaedia of Pakistan’ focusing on the country’s heritage, ethnology and folklore, said Uxi Mufti, executive director of Lok Virsa, on Sunday. The first volume ‘Northern Areas - Karakurrum, Himalayas and Hindukush’ written in Urdu was the maiden step towards the 12-volume, the rest of which would be simultaneously worked out, said Mr Mufti. The project had been completed on the prime minister’s directive and was an initiative to preserve the country’s cultural heritage.
