Watercolour painting exhibition opens in Islamabad

The two-week exhibition of water colour paintings titled ‘Street Scenes of Karachi and Sufis of Sindh’ by renowned Karachi-based painter Sarfraz Musawir opened at the Nomad Art Gallery on Tuesday.

Thirty-two deftly drafted and aesthetically pleasing works depicting different landscapes of the famous streets and squares of Karachi, most of them drenched in rain water, and several Sufis of rural Sindh, with a concentration on hermits, have been put on display.

This is Mr Musawir’s first exhibition at the Nomad and all paintings on display are for sale for prices ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 30,000. His current show, like many during his more than 10-year career, speaks loudly of his control of technique, paints and colour combinations…
