Fast food frenzy for Karachi corporate crowd

Saeed Shafiq, a steel importer senior vice president at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry likes to dig in to a traditional Pakistani lunch when he takes a break from work at his office on I.I. Chundrigar Road.

‘We are traditionalists and like to eat a heavy lunch with lots of spices,’ says Saeed Shafiq, senior vice president of Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Shafiq, like other businessmen in the city, shun burgers and sandwiches for more traditional fare. But corporate executives at the hundreds of offices situated on I.I. Chundrigar Road are thronging to the global fast food franchises that have set up shop in the business district.
