Lahore Museum to Enter Big League

Plans to expand the Lahore Museum over an 11-kanal-area, construct several new galleries, establish a research department, install the latest security, temperature-control and ticketing systems were announced by the museum director, Gulzar Mashhadi, on Wednesday.

The new galleries in the museum will include a section called the City Museum, to portray cultural items from Lahore, another to present Punjabi cultural heritage and a Sikh gallery. Mr Mashhadi estimated the initial cost of the expansion project at Rs 100 million.
