Malaysian firm wins $75m Pakistan wind-power project

The project — to be developed on a build, own and operate-basis for 20 years — is estimated for completion within 18 months.

The wind-powered power plant will be located in the Bin Qasim, outskirts of Karachi. ‘The Government of Pakistan intends to purchase the 50 MW of power to be generated from the power plant.’ Meanwhile, AEDB has given approval for the commencement of civil construction work for the 50 MW wind farm power plant immediately.

‘The Government of Sindh has agreed to provide the land for the project,’ it said. PSCI said it will complement the group’s continuing involvement in the construction of power plants both locally and overseas…
