Acclaimed Pakistani Film Set for Indian Release

Pakistani film Khamosh Paani, which has won several awards and laurels on the international film festival circuit, is slated for its commercial release in India in October.

Shot entirely in Pakistan, this Sabiya Sumar-directed film stars Indian actress Kiron Kher in the lead role about a Hindu girl forced to stay in Pakistan after partition and later converted to Islam. According to Shyam Shroff of 'Shrinagar Films', the distributors of the Pakistani-venture, the film being produced with German and French collaboration made its distribution in India easier.
