Pakistan Ghazal Maestro in Bombay Concert

To promote relations between India and Pakistan, a unique concert called Ek Shaam Rashtriya Ekta Ke Naam is being held in Mumbai on September 25.

The highlight is that Pakistani ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali will join Mumbai-based Anup Jalota on stage.

The show is being organised by the Yuva Foundation, with support from the makers of the film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon, directed by Anil Sharma. The film’s producers decided to support the event because their basic aims were the same.

This will be Ali’s first public concert in Mumbai after the unfortunate incident at Hotel Juhu Centaur five years ago, when hoodlums prevented him from singing. Of course, he rendered a couple of songs at a Talat Aziz show earlier this year, and has sung in some private mehfils…
