Pakistan’s Aqeel Khan lived up to his top billing and won the USD 10,000 ITF Mens’ Futures title defeating Chinese Taipei’s Liu Tai-Wei 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-1 at the Lal Bahadur stadium tennis complex here today.

Twenty-four-year-old Khan had a good beginning and he rolled on to 5-3 in the first set until he relaxed a bit which allowed his opponent to draw level and move into tie-break which the experienced player won with little effort.

“I relaxed a bit after reaching 5-3 in the first set and had to sort out things in the tie-break,” Aqeel admitted in his post match press briefing.
