Chip-based vehicle ID system to be introduced soon

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will assign vehicle identification and tracking number and issue the same on a secure document to the applicant. This VITS will be physically transferred to the owner of the vehicle. This will be a permanent laminated document, which will only contain the particulars of the registered vehicle.

Vehicle information including ownership history, tax payments and endorsement will be available to law and order agencies through online access.
